This article reflects on the processes of patrimonialization witnessed in the last decades in Latin America, which have two sides.
The first is related to a process of decolonization and decentralization of historical knowledge, which has meant the emergence of cultural identity regimes and the vindication of some local memories through architectures. However, in a second part, it is analyzed how these processes of patrimonialization contain a logic that includes touristification, mercantilization, fetish and the poetry of an absence.
