Abstract

Ana María del Cid, current Mayor of the Municipality of Mejicanos, department of San Salvador.
Does the Mayoralty of Mejicanos have a strategy to prevent violence? We are working. The central government to fight crime began in Mejicanos as a pilot test the recovery of public spaces through the construction of sports complexes.
As a municipal council, we have requested the collaboration of the Social Investment Fund for Local Development (FISDL), for the creation of a citizen security program based on South America's experience.
I reserve myself how I am going to do it, only in my head I have it, it is not written yet, but I want it to be a model. To start it, I need a consultation to be done in the whole municipality, I need the population to give an opinion if it is appropriate or not.
