Abstract

This article evaluates, from the paradigm of Victimology, the rights and duties of crime victims in El Salvador. It is important to define the different types of victims recognized and the connection that the concept of victim has with that of crime and delinquent.
With the peace agreements signed in 1992 between the Government of El Salvador and the Directorate of the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN), 12 years of hostile war in the country were ended; The importance of certain rights for victims and the need to continue advancing in them began to be recognized.
Currently, there is no possibility of guaranteeing the victims the basic rights recognized by Salvadoran legislation, aimed at the reparation and protection of the human person from the moment of conception until the day of his death; with which it stops fulfilling the purposes and objectives attributed to the criminal process, victimizing the victim again.
