The health services system is the set of services that contribute to its production, to improve, protect and recover the health of a given population.
It includes all the elements that constitute the functional physical infrastructure of a health system in a certain area, which includes a series of structures articulated as a network (health posts, units, polyclinics, health centers, hospitals, institutes), produce health benefits based on programs defined with criteria of equity, efficiency, quality and financial sustainability.
