The neo-liberal economic project claims to be based on the pragmatic philosophical doctrine that originated in the academic environments of the United States of America at the end of the 19th century.
However, if one examines pragmatic thinking and its philosophical basis with some detail, one can conclude that really, in practice, such a project cannot be based on a philosophy with such a strong ethical content. It happens that commonly philosophical doctrines and categories are subject to relaxation and vulgarization.
This has happened with systems of very high doctrinal wealth such as Epicurean philosophy, Stoicism, existentialism, militarism and pragmatism.
In this work we present an exposition of the militaristic and pragmatic philosophies, of its main categories, we examine in the same way the characteristics of economic neoliberalism and its practical effects on our societies and on those in which it represents the basis of its development.
