Abstract

The earthquakes that hit the country, caused much pain among Salvadoran families and physical destruction of large proportions homes, buildings, roads, etc., It is relevant to perform an analysis on the vulnerability of the country that is oriented beyond the movement itself of nature, emphasizing the precarious and most vulnerable conditions in the economic and social spheres for the majority of the population.
The damage suffered substantially modifies the already deteriorated living conditions and the poverty map that underlies society. The ravages of the earthquakes, exacerbated the existing social drama, and confirmed how weak our structures are to mitigate the risks within a conception of integral and long-term development.
The purpose of these lines revolves around drawing attention more to the social vulnerability that characterizes us as a nation, instead of focusing on the physical and territorial vulnerability that our country presents.
