History : perspective and changes

Abstract

We are at a time when Clío, the muse of history, seems to have a greater presence in the academic, and why not, cultural environments of this country.
Last year a group of historians set out to set up the Permanent Seminar on Historical Studies attached to the General Archive of the Nation. This has been established as a place of encounter and historical discussion unique in the country and this instance have promoted public events to disseminate some of the research of its members. On the other hand, in the academic field there are very encouraging news.
At this moment the students of History of Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador are about to finish their first cycle of the degree. Also, at the University of El Salvador the necessary details are being finalized to implement the History career as soon as possible.
Also, in July specialists from all over the world in the history of Central America came to El Salvador to meet at the V Central American Congress of History where they presented and debated the latest studies on the part of the isthmus. And all this was possible thanks to the need on the part of Salvadoran society to seek and reflect on its past, to make memory.
