Abstract

The left and right are changing and become entangled in ideological redefinitions. The thesis of machismo is not far behind, some attribute it to the established patriarchal system, others argue that it is only a disguise used by women to hide their refusal to take risks and responsibilities.
Environment brings together three prominent women in the political and social field to discuss the issue, and offers readers extracts of their coincidences, differences and conclusions.
The election of the interviewees was difficult, but it guaranteed the diversity of opinions: Gloria Salguero Gross, former president of the Legislative Assembly and of ARENA, party associated with conservative ideas; Morena Herrera, leader of Las Dignas, a feminist movement considered one of the most radical in the country; and Sandra de Barraza, of moderate thinking, coordinator of the National Development Commission.
