This paper analyzes the evolution of electricity generation through renewable energies in the energy matrix of Honduras in the last 10 years (2010-2020), taking as a basis its dates of establishment in the country, as well as the laws and decrees that govern them to publicize the reasons for the evolution of the different energies in our country. This is due to the fact that it is in this last decade that there has been a diversification of generation in the Honduran energy system, since it is in that period of time where new sources of renewable energy such as wind, solar photovoltaic and geothermal are incorporated. In addition, new projects for hydraulic and biomass sources were added.
