Abstract

Accumulation of craters on surfaces of planetary bodies increases over time, while the size of the diameters decreases. Lunar chronological models have been created using samples dated with radiometry and crater counting. These models have been adjusted for other terrestrial bodies such as Mars. The crater count for OPHIR Planum located in the province of Tharsis, Mars was made using new tools or programs such as CraterTools and CraterStats. The results were analyzed using the chronological statistical models and it was determined that the age of the OPHIR Planum is ∼ 3.70 Ga with a low absolute uncertainty.
