Abstract

In this article we introduce the CTBTO, Comprehensive Nuclear-Test- Ban Treaty Organization, effort to discern seismic events, that is to determine whether they are an earthquake or a nuclear test. Then we will present different concepts and techniques that we can use to determine if an event is natural or an explosion. Finally, we conclude with a series of examples in which we apply these criteria and then determine the nature of the analyzed events.
