Abstract

A model for a low-cost, high resolution data gathering system construction is being presented, using a sensor, a microcontroller and an analog to digital signal converter. Using this scheme, two systems were designed, one for measuring temperature and a second one for measuring luminous intensity variations from a LASER. Each system is described from its theoretical point of view and experimental approach. For the digital thermometer implementation a Steinhart-Hart calibration was considered and to verify the correct functioning of the photodetector system, the Malus Law was considered.
