Abstract

We describe the origin of the parasitic currents and show how to calculate these currents for some geometries. We analyze the effect of parasitic currents on devices like electric motors currents, and dynamometers, these currents generate undesirable effects on motors and transformers, but there are certain technological applications that are very useful, such as metal detectors and heating systems. In the induction motor effects occur such as parasitic current and hysteresis, which cause energy dissipation by Joule effect.
