We are at a crucial moment in the technological era, characterized by leaps and bounds of progress. Given this scenario, a key question arises: Are universities prepared to face digital change? The digitalization of higher education institutions should not be considered a passing trend; this transformation redefines the way institutions operate and how students access learning. From instant access to vast online resources to the implementation of virtual classrooms, the impact of technology is undeniable. However, this change brings with it a series of challenges. This article seeks to explore both the opportunities and obstacles that digitalization presents in the university environment, analyzing its influence on educational quality and access to knowledge, two fundamental pillars in 21st century academic training.
