Abstract
Volume 8 of the Revista de las Ciencias Sociales of the Institute for Social Research (IIS) at UNAH reaffirms its commitment to the dissemination and academic debate of national and regional issues, consolidating its role as a reference for social analysis in Honduras. This edition marks a renewed institutional momentum with the initiation of the indexing process in academic databases across Central America and Latin America, as well as the expansion of its Editorial Board to include international scholars. The volume brings together fourteen articles—eleven national and three international—organized into five thematic blocks: national development, university life, State and public policies, social issues, and international studies. The contributions combine quantitative, qualitative, and historical approaches, addressing inequality, institutional dynamics, university processes, health, culture, and territorial transformations. Overall, the publication reflects UNAH’s scientific work and regional dialogue, reaffirming its commitment to interdisciplinarity, editorial quality, and open access as contributions to understanding Honduran and Latin American realities.
