Abstract

This article analyzes the sociodemographic challenges that limit women’s economic empowerment in rural areas of Pinar del Río. To this end, it integrates official demographic data (CEDEM, 2023) with theoretical approaches to vulnerability and gender. Furthermore, it identifies migration patterns, population aging, employment gaps, and adolescent fertility as critical factors, and proposes actions that can lead to public policies with a territorial and gender focus. Graphs visualize the disparities between rural and urban municipalities, highlighting the need for multisectoral interventions.
