Abstract

Family, as a socializing agent, must influence so that each of its members can cohere and develop correctly in the physical, emotional, and intellectual spheres to propitiate their integration into society in general, trying to be individuals who make positive changes in it; being the human being a holistic being, sociable by nature, the home becomes the propitious stage for the achievement of these objectives. In this sense, multiple factors have a direct impact on the well-being of the Salvadoran family nucleus. Family is, according to the current legal system in El Salvador, the fundamental basis of society. That is why civil marriage becomes a key piece for the constitution of this new social group that is being formed to occur in the most natural way possible, but it is worth mentioning that, as a result, it will necessarily create links, mainly affective, and therefore very subjective; because of that case, this interaction may generate some discrepancies or disagreements among them. However, for this reason, some rules seek to mitigate these differences and to foster an atmosphere of respect and consideration, achieving a peaceful coexistence and at the same time enabling all its members to achieve their goals, both those they have at the group and personal level. Therefore, it is important for this research to analyze if civil marriage, fulfilling its nature of being a juridical and voluntary act, allows Salvadorans to consolidate family welfare.
