Abstract

The de facto union becomes a necessity to be addressed, since couples do not formalize their relationship, but live together for long periods, which results in ignorance of the rights and duties that are assumed in that bond, by not be legally constituted; The objective is to identify the benefits for women when legally establishing and publishing a stable de facto union, because it is important to recognize them to demand their compliance; This research is based on the positivist paradigm in a qualitative approach, making use of the observation of legal norms, conducting a survey of 15 women in a de facto union and the statistical data of the registrations in the Registry of the Civil Status of Persons of Managua, considering that in Nicaragua there is a population of 6,850,540 inhabitants, according to the National Institute of Development Information (INIDE), and for the Managua Registry they have registered 1,589 from 2015 to 2023, being a relatively small number in relation to the population, considering that the city of Managua represents a large part of the national population, being the capital, and of the people surveyed, according to the selected sample, it is confirmed that the de facto union is not constituted and therefore, the woman She ignores her benefits in that union, which brings with it a social problem, for not claiming her rights as a woman and as a cohabitant.
