Impact of climate change on the health of El Salvador

Climate change causes extreme atmospheric phenomena, excess pollution, increased pests, increased mortality due to extreme temperatures, food shortages and water, effects on plants and animals, with direct and indirect health implications. The objective is to reflect and raise awareness of the impact that climate change has on health and, In this way, encourage the initiation of prevention and promotion actions that help to counteract said impact. The methodology consisted of a bibliographic review and descriptive analysis. and transversal on the impact of climate change on health in El Salvador. In conclusion, the problem of the impact of climate change on health must be addressed in conjunction with the involvement of key sectors in these processes, such as institutions public and private educational institutions (schools, colleges, universities), companies, industries, maquilas that promote pro-environmental behavior, in order to conserve and protect the environment, do not overexploit resources, reduce electricity consumption, avoid pollution; also, connect our activities in a balanced way with environmental processes in progress. Likewise, promote, deepen and defend a genuine and broad participation social and community health and environment, ensure financing mechanisms and allocation of resources that are supportive and efficient; conduct research and evaluation of health impact of climate change in El Salvador.
