Abstract

One of the complications of Diabetes mellitus is the diabetic foot, which is a cause for concern not only because of the high hospital costs it entails, but also because of the disability it causes. The present study aims to describe the sociodemographic and clinics of the patient with diabetic foot who consulted the Hospital San Rafael 2018, is quantitative, retrospective, with review of clinical records of patients who consulted the emergency unit in 2018, of 255 records reviewed, 21 were excluded, leaving one population of 234. As main findings it can be mentioned that this pathology is frequent in the female sex, older than 50 years, with low schooling, married and housewife, with mixed clinical type, less than 10 years of evolution of diabetes and poor metabolic control.
