Introduction: The cause of occupational carpal tunnel syndrome (STC) is related to repetitive trauma due to specific and fine movements of the dominant hand (STCd), however little is known about the pathophysiology of time syndrome! of the carpe in the non-dominant hand (STCnd) whose mechanisms of injury cannot be the same as their counterpart in order to investigate the pathophysiology of this condition, a neurophysiological study was performed in these patients.
Methodology: Patients with STCnd with a positive clinical and electrophysiological picture were detected in neurophysiological examinations of short 7 cm segments and comparative between innervacien sensory nerves shared with the rt. mediated (ulnar or radial), additionally the H wave of the radial carpi flexor and needle insertion electromyography was studied.
Results: Eleven patients presented STCnd, 1 man and 10 women with an average age of 41 high. One patient presented a commitment of exclusively demyelination of the palm mufieca segment with sensitive preservation, this patient also has an anastomosis of Martin Grfiber and 10 patients with sensory predominance with two types of patterns, all with a gradient of affection: 1) predominant sensory focal demyelination 4 / 10 patients and 2) Axonopatic, a sensory focal-motor 6/10.
The H wave was abnormal in 54% showing no uniform and consistent correlation with the STCnd and may be absent in mild STCnd as present in several axonal forms.
Conclusion: The STCnd is relatively rare in our case 11 cases in 8738 patients examined, electrophysiologically presents a gradient of lesion progression similar to that of its STCd counterpart, however they are different in the symmetry of affection in sensitive comparative studies but not in the motor and it does not seem to correlate with C6 radiculopathy due to the study of the H wave.
The affection mechanism seems to be related to the use of Inas support that uses fine and repetitive use of the hand, larger studies of patients seeking others are needed. risk factor's.
