The objective was to determine to what extent the nitrogen and energy balance influences the nutritional status of children with Chronic Renal Failure in the treatment of Peritoneal Dialysis. He studies is descriptive and correlational. The 24 boys and girls in peritoneal dialysis treatment in the nephrology area of Bloom Hospital were taken as a population, and the nitrogen balance and energy balance were calculated as well as serum albumin tests. The results showed that children have different protein losses even if they belong to the same age group and that their weights coincide, since protein losses can be increased; for the presence of peritonitis; uremia, frequency and quality of dialysis treatment. Through this study it has been possible to verify that the nitrogen balance if it has an impact I will know the nutritional status, but for a nutritional improvement to be achieved, the intake must be much higher than the value obtained in the Protein Catabolism Rate (CRP), since it was observed that although in some cases the intake was higher than the rate of protein catabolism, it was not sufficient to contribute to an improvement in nutritional status and weight gain was not achieved
