Rights of the Child in the Primary School of El Salvador. Study carried out in public schools from first to sixth grades of basic education

This article constitutes a descriptive exploratory study with qualitative analysis, whose purpose is to identify the dynamics and evolution of the application of children's rights in the public education system of El Salvador, from the perspective of the main adores. To carry out the research, curricular contents and public policy documents were reviewed, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC); In parallel, 5 schools from different geographical areas of urban and rural areas were located, where teachers, principals, parents were interviewed; Those responsible for public policies for the protection of children and adolescents and those responsible for educational policies were consulted. It was found that there is a wide regulation that bases the promotion and application of the rights of children in El Salvador, governmental and non-governmental organizations that work with programs of attention to children, sufficient educational material designed for this purpose and an incipient initiative of join efforts of all entities involved and seek work together to achieve common goals. There is a good level of knowledge of rights; but there is still mocha deficiency in the application of the according. School principals, teachers should be better trained to do a better job, especially with the main responsible parents singing. According to the children, some punishments include beatings and suspension from school, there are boys and girls who are showcases of vices of alcohol, drugs, even harassment, sexual violations by family members and their teachers. However, successful experiences were known that include treatment of nitros and their families. It is considered important to raise awareness and greater participation of families and community in general in the development of Salvadoran children.
