Abstract

Doctor Alejandro Serrano Caldera, in his reflection on philosopy in regards to current challenges, points out that: confronted with the contemporary drama of fragmentation, of the rupture between man and the world, in this moment of “unhappy consciousness” to use a phrase from Hegel, philosophy should be a theoretical and practical effort of Unity in Diversity. For this reason, philosophy should not be the study of a list of orthodoxies, or the knowledge of a thread of connected dogmas, or even the faithful reproduction of established thought. It should be a palpable reality in concept and idea, that becomes flesh and humanized in history, a proposal and a dialog that integrates experience and hope, liberty and equality, and whats more, contributes to the building of intermediaries that make it possible to step from one to another.
