This is an extended documentary research whose main purpose is to determine in the historical development of the Culture of Peace, all those components, elements and values underpinning the new education for a culture of peace. In the history of the establishment of the normative instruments of the culture of peace, we find that these international legal texts are like a sort of platform for projecting clearly and pedagogical an education for a culture of peace required in these times of axiological, economic, political, social and environmental crisis.
The values which are implicit or explicitly declared are included in these documents generated by academics, researchers and the Organization of the United Nations and starting with the definition of culture of peace as a set of values. These values as harmony, freedom, justice, solidarity and peace, are required for the development of citizenship as well as the cordial values of tolerance and solidarity which have their origin in a nonviolent and respectful attitude of human life and dignity.
If you have a multifaceted vision, you will see that the eight main lines of action for a culture of peace correspond in some way with the types of education also necessary for the development of the skills, competencies and critical thinking to build a culture of peace.
