The phone number portability is a regulation to mobile phone service which has been launched internationally and whose implementation is possible in our country, as it brings benefits to the users of these services and market competition.
Nicaraguan law has a single article as regulatory source that enables TELCOR to implement number portability through an Administrative Agreement. Such public entity has already a draft of the regulation of phone number portability, so we have to wait for negotiations in the coming months or in a short term that leads, first, the effective operation of the new telecommunications company Xinwei and secondly, the likely implementation of number portability considering the possible migration of customers to the Xinwei operator.
