Abstract

In this paper the author reflects on complexity and education at the university. He remarks the complexity of reality and science and the necessity of different epistemologies to understand them. He concludes on three points: (1) the urgency for being competent to  face complexity; (2) the necessity to summon for innovation since reality is complex, dynamic and ever changing; and (3) this reality  poses permanent challenges to universities: to synthesize between knowledge and profession so that the permanent attempt to build and constitute intellectual life can be enabled.
