This article summarizes the results of the research entitled Methodological Strategies to Promote Reading Comprehension Skills, carried out within the Hispanic Language and Literature teaching major at FAREM-Estelí, UNAN- Managua, during 2016. The study aimed to determine the methodological strategies implemented to promote the reading comprehension skills in the learning process of the subject Reading, Writing and Spelling Techniques. This study concluded that the application of a diversity of methodological strategies stimulates the students´ reading comprehension skills. The theoretical contribution of this work covers an extensive bibliographic review on participatory methodological strategies. Moreover, the practical contribution is the development of a methodological compendium that can contribute to stimulate the understanding of written texts, which will strengthen teaching skills and thus improve the quality of education in the university context.Downloads
