Abstract

This paper deals with musical production in England, the United States and Spain during the 1980s and 1990s, which refer to the events that occurred in Nicaragua after the victory of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) in 1979. It seeks to highlight the idea that some musical groups of the Punk and Hardcore genre had in those three countries, and the interpretation they made of the Nicaraguan revolution, which will allow us to understand little-studied aspects of the imaginary of these groups, in relation to the events in the Central American country. To this end, an approach will be made to the names of these groups and an analysis of the lyrics of the songs whose interpretation must be subject to the context in which they emerged.
