Abstract

Bribery is a global crisis! Bribery has been a harmful practice that has been present throughout all human history. In this paper we will explore how bribery is unethical and has devastating effects on democracy and development. As a result of that, over the past decades we have seen the appearance and enforcement of a plurality of domestic and international legislation to fight this battle against corruption. The next point will be to evaluate how this international legislation has echoed in Honduras. Finally, a regulatory approach aimed directly at the corporate culture of companies and forcing them to develop internal mechanisms to avoid their participation in bribes and acts of corruption will be exposed as a possible method to solve the problem.
