Abstract

This study arises with the motivation to broaden the potential use of the environment, aiming to improve living conditions and stimulate active participation across various social segments, grounded in environmental education aligned with rural education for social transformation.

The presented situation identifies a contradiction between the necessary interpretation of the local leaders' activity as an environmental-focused educational process and the insufficient incorporation of the environmental dimension. This led to outlining the following objective: to develop an environmental education strategy that leads to social transformation in the La Musicanga Popular Council, Bejucal municipality, Mayabeque Province, Cuba. The scientific method employed was participatory action research. Upon concluding the research, the primary conclusion highlighted a spiral development category; in this sense, Environmental Education should be tailored to the societal context.
