The sociodemographic characteristics of Honduran migrant women living in the United States reflected in the American Household Survey (ACS American Community Survey) during the period 2001-2013, shows a significant increase in the migratory flow of women born in Honduras who migrate to that northern country. Mostly migrant women travel in search of better job opportunities. Among the main features identified in this study it stands out, a young population between 25 and 29 years of age with a low educational level and with little or no English proficiency. A significant number of migrant Honduran women do not have legal immigration status. In addition, a significant percentage of household heads is recorded. An important finding is that most once established in the United States choose to have fewer children. Migrant women work focuses on low-skilled service, which includes occupations related to food preparation, maintenance and cleaning of buildings, domestic services, caregiving, and the like.
