Mortality in Danlí - El Paraíso between 1901 and 1912 based on the death records of the Immaculate Conception Parish

Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the mortality phenomenon in Danlí , El Paraíso during 1901 and 1912, based on the Death Record Book of the Immaculate Conception Parish. The findings so far reveal that Danlí was affected by a number of cause of death, including dropsy, side pain and fever, the numbers for the deceased increased between 1902 and 1905, then declined between 1906 and 1912. Likewise, in deaths by both sexes, females were the ones with the highest incidence with 471 cases of the total deaths. Similarly, married marital status was the one the presented more deaths, both in men and women.
