Clinical-Epidemiological Profile, pediatric patients with nocturnal enuresis. Schools, San Pedro Sula

Background: The nocturnal enuresis is a prevalent disease in approximately 18% of pediatric patients, associated with different pathologies, such as ADHD, constipation and sleep disorders, timely diagnosis is important. Objective: Describe the clinical, epidemiological and sociocultural profile of children with nocturnal enuresis, evaluated in educational centers Fidelina Cerros Chamelecón and Miguel paz Barahona Cofradía, Cortes Department. Methodology and Sample: Quantitative, Non-experimental, Descriptive Study from August 2018 to May 2019, with a sample of 200 children, Results: Prevalence found was 16.7% and the average age of 7.72 years, 61% men, 100% urban residents. 80% had good school adaptation, 33% did not have easy access to health services and only 47.5% had periodic health checks, 67% had daytime bedwetting and 45% nightmares. Conclusions: The patients with nocturnal enuresis of metropolitan schools of San Pedro Sula are characterized: age from 7 or 8 years, masculine sex, living in houses with basic services without backyard, but with an adequate construction material, sharing rooms and even living in overcrowding, with few periodic health checks, with access to health care centers for those who live in metropolitan area.
