Morgagni Hernia as a Cause of Respiratory Pathology in Pediatrics

Morgangi's hernia (HM) was described by first time by the anatomist and pathologist Italian Giovanni Battista Morgagni in his treatise in 1769 “The Seats and Causes of Diseases Investigated by Anatomy”,1 where is defined as a subcosto-sternal congenital defect anteromedial characterized by a separation between the transverse septum of the diaphragm and the costal arches with an irregular opening between the ribs sternal and costal junctions allowing a hernia from the abdominal organs into the cavity thoracic and depending on the size of the defect can be deadly.
