Abstract

Breastfeeding is the ideal food for children as it has fundamental properties both immunological and nutritional, bioactive components that protect the infant from infectious diseases including COVID 19, therefore you should continue to breastfeed directly from the breast, and if this is not possible, encourage the mother to express her milk routinely to feed her baby while taking precautions to avoid transmitting the virus. So far there are no studies that support the presence of the virus in human milk, therefore, the CDC and WHO recommend continuing with breastfeeding in children with mothers suspected or confirmed of COVID 19.
