El impacto de los primeros 1000 días a nutrición en las etapas primarias de la vida también conocida como: “Los primeros 1000 días” tiene un impacto muy importante; lo cual ha llamado la atención de muchos investigadores que desean saber cuál es el rol que la misma tiene en el desarrollo y crecimiento y sobre todo cual es el impacto que causa una nutrición fallida en pacientes durante estas etapas de la vida.

This article explores the critical importance of nutrition during the first 1000 days of life—from conception to two years of age—and its decisive impact on physical, cognitive, and immunological development. It emphasizes that this period lays the foundation for lifelong health, as inadequate nutrition can lead to irreversible consequences such as poor academic performance, chronic diseases in adulthood, and increased susceptibility to infections.

The article examines three key stages: the prenatal period, where maternal nutrition is essential for proper fetal development; the early postnatal stage (0–6 months), during which exclusive breastfeeding is considered the gold standard; and the 6-month to 2-year period, where malnutrition remains a public health issue, particularly in developing countries, with high rates of micronutrient deficiencies such as iron, zinc, calcium, and B-complex vitamins.

In addition, the concept of the metabolic phenotype is introduced as a tool to assess nutritional and metabolic status during these stages, using advanced analytical technologies such as magnetic resonance imaging and mass spectrometry. The article advocates for a comprehensive, personalized approach to early-life nutrition to enable effective interventions that promote optimal growth and development from the earliest stages of life.
