On December 11, 1825, the first Political Constitution of the State of Honduras came into effect, as part of the resolutions issued by the Federal Republic of Central America. The constituent deputies adopted the federal political system, and with the signatures of Dionisio de Herrera—as the first head of state—and Francisco Morazán—as his secretary—the extensive process of institutional development of the country began, the bicentennial of which is commemorated this year, 2025.
With this issue, we aim to foster a critical and reflective analysis of historical educational processes, based on the premise that these are constantly evolving phenomena, subject to the influence of ideological currents, political directives, and social tensions. We express our sincere gratitude to the contributors, peer reviewers, and readers for their invaluable contribution to this debate. We reiterate our invitation to continue the inquiry, questioning, and collective learning, in the conviction that understanding the past is the foundation for building a more equitable and promising educational future.
