This article analyzes the work of one of the leading scholars of Francisco Morazán, Filander Díaz Chávez (1922-2010), in which he reads and interprets his political project and ethos from a Marxistdialectical perspective aimed at studying Morazán’s praxis as a revolutionary praxis in the context of emerging capitalism in Central America. The article presents and analyzes Díaz Chávez’s arguments regarding what he defines as the Morazanist revolution, as well as the arguments he puts forward against the defamations of Morazán made by foreign authors, and his analysis of why Morazán died tragically after being sentenced to death in San José, Costa Rica, on September 15, 1842.
