This article studies the historiography of education in Honduras from the early and mid-20th century to the present. It examines academic productions, articles, theses, and compilations, emphasizing contributions on the history of education, female education, liberal reforms, pedagogy, schools, among others. The methodology is based on historiographical analysis, differentiating between
historical events and historical discourse. The study offers a mediating overview of the construction of Honduran historical-educational knowledge, identifying continuities and ruptures. The historiography of higher education will be studied in a separate research paper.
