WRITERS IN THE EDUCATIONAL PRESS OF THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF PRIMARY INSTRUCTION OF HONDURAS (1895-1932)

Abstract

This article studies the pedagogical publications of the Dirección General de Instrucción Primaria in Honduras, both in their material aspect as a magazine, and in their content (articles and authors). The first publication entitled La Instrucción Primaria was published in 1895, in order to serve exclusively the interests of education; it was administered by directors of primary education and had the collaboration of educators.This newspaper was published in a new stage under the name of La Enseñanza Primaria from 1907,continuing with the objective of publishing what concerns the branch of primary education and providing the methods and instructions for teaching in schools. This article shows that the pedagogical press of the Dirección General de Instrucción Primaria contributed to the exchange of educational ideas and generated a dynamic space for participation.
