Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the historical process of how the professionalization of history took place at the Universidad Michoacana San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH) between 1961-1994. Incompliance with this objective, based on there view of bibliographic, news paper and documentary sources located in said institution, we have concluded that historically the development of Historical Sciences at the UMSNH has depended on the internal and external political realities that led to the standardization of criteria at the level of historical teaching and research at said University.
