Introduction: In the obstetrics field, some practices are performed that cause damage to the mother or her baby. One is Kristeller's maneuver, whose application is controversial. Objective: To determine the frequency with the Kristeller´s maneuver was carried out on a sample of women attended at the maternity in San Felipe General Hospital of Tegucigalpa. Methodology: Descriptive study, was conducted in the period from march to may 2018. A total of 376 patients were included. The variables studied were: time of birth, parity, professional who attended and supervised the delivery, professional who performed Kristeller´s maneuver, maternal and neonatal complications observed. Results: A Kristeller´s maneuver frequency of 12.2% (46/376) was found. Conclusions: Being primigravity increases the risk of Kristeller (OR: 3.11, CI: 95%, p=0.0002775), within the protective factors are to be multiparous (OR:0.25, CI: 95%, p=0.0000418) and, to have been attended by a nursing professional (OR: 0.34, CI: 95%, p=0.0097920). Kristeller's maneuver increases the risk of maternal complications by 12.5 times (OR: 17.6, CI: 95%, p=0.0000000019) and 6.5 times in the neonate (OR: 7.7 CI: 95%, p=0.0000578).
