To determine the possibility of using environmental and weather conditions by analyzing radiation and wind parameters by installing highly accurate meteorological equipment to determine the potential of sustainable electricity generation that is environmentally friendly for the UNAH´s central campus. They installed an automatic weather station, wind direction sensors and speed generation.
The analysis performed to measure wind parameter at 10 feet and the estimations made at 30, 60 and 80 meters using Hellmann's Exponent Law and Weibull distribution method, found out that there is potential for low-power generator for the wind power generation.
In regard to solar radiation, depending on monthly averages and highs registered in the study site, the potential exists for the generation of electrical energy. These values are determined to a lesser or greater potential under the influence of season and weather phenomena that occur in Honduras.
