The objective of this research was to evaluate the influence of knowledge management in the development of learning capacities and their impact on economic performance in medium enterprises in the city of Santa Rosa de Copán. The results affirm that these companies have served to cushion the effect of economic crises caused by business cycles and as important sources of innovation and productivity, but due to their size and existing market failures do not allow them to access technologies, information, capitals and markets. The research concludes that part of the problem faced by medium-sized enterprises is the lack of knowledge about competitive processes, production and administrative systems; these companies exhibit weaknesses in the management of knowledge, both in their financial, competitive and market forms, thus prejudicing their decision-making, in addition, lack of personal and group formation of the organizations that are wrecked in the evidence of human resources. Skilled workers who do not have formal training or organizational learning programs adequate to foster the synergy of their actions. This is evident in the loss of competitive position and perceived income as well as non-economic results such as customer service and job satisfaction in a not so favorable state in these companies.
