Dear readers and contributors of our scientific journal, 

As the editorial team of this prestigious publication, we address you with great excitement and determination to tackle the challenges we have faced regarding the timeliness of our journal. We recognize that we have fallen short of our publication deadlines and understand the concerns this has raised within our scientific community. However, we fully know the importance of rectifying this situation and taking concrete actions to revitalize and improve our journal, elevating it to higher publication standards. 

We would like to inform you that the journal has recently been transferred from the Directorate of Scientific, Humanistic, and Technological Innovation of UNAH to the Institute of Applied and Technological Sciences Research affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering of UNAH. This represents a valuable opportunity and a step backward to revitalize our journal and, in turn, consolidate its position in the scientific landscape of Honduras, the region, the continent, and the world. 

We acknowledge that the failure to meet publication deadlines has affected the trust of our readers and contributors, and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We assure you that we are taking immediate measures to remedy the situation and restore regularity in our publications. 

As the editorial team, we take the responsibility to lead this process of reactivation and improvement. We are committed to working closely with the new Institute of Applied and Technological Sciences Research and with you, our valued readers and contributors, to achieve these objectives. Your feedback, suggestions, and contributions are crucial to the success of our journal. 

Finally, we sincerely appreciate your ongoing trust and support. For the IICAT and, above all, for the academic community of the Faculty of Engineering, we are in a historic moment as this will be our first scientific journal edited and published under the light of applied sciences and technology. We firmly believe in driving the transformation of our journal towards higher publication standards. Together, we will achieve a robust, influential, and excellent scientific journal contributing to advancing knowledge in our areas of interest.
