Abstract

The political discourse of ARENA party is built upon several myths. One of them is the myth of the leader-saviour of the country against the threat of communism. Other myth is the "people" as a passive entity, paying loyalty to its leader by showing him patience. These features of the political discourse of ARENA were shown in the past presidential campaign.
