Market development of government securities: Main objectives

This paper aims to show that a well-balanced financial system needs debt markets and a public debt market almost always plays a central role in these markets. It is from this perspective that this document policy issues that governments and central banks faced in the development of the bond markets is examined. The debate raises questions and dilemmas politicians across the spectrum of policies fiscal, monetary and financial. It aims to show the main trends in recent years, and the strategic value of the bond markets and the main obstacles to its development. It should also review strategies government borrowing.Downloads
