This research titled, “Characterization of the Nicaraguan Territorial System” has as objective, the detection of socio-economic, cultural and environmental potentials within the national territory as well as, the prevision of challenges given its economic and demographic dynamic. For this purpose, first, the historical framework of the land use planning is determined, then the characteristics and potential of the components such as political-administrative, natural-environmental, socio-cultural and economic-social are noted, and finally some guidelines for public policies are developed to help improve land use management.Downloads
