Abstract

Since its adoption in September, 2015 the Agenda 2030 became the reference framework for sustainable development. The Agenda consists of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) that include three dimensions of sustainability: economic, social and ecological. The formulation of the Agenda 2030 is a new challenge for the academic research. The question that appears here is, to what extent this Agenda involves a change of paradigm in development theory. The social science and especially the economic science in Honduras cannot remain in the traditional abstract schemes. The Agenda 2030 has to be seeing as an opportunity so that the University stops being an ivory tower protected and encapsulated out of the reality and becomes a driver of transformation.
